Desecration Update

Even though the burning of the two dead Taliban bodies is not against the Geneva Convention, it's still against the Afghan culture and tradition. Most Afghan people were not upset over the burning of two Taliban dead bodies, but Afghan people were upset because the villagers were insulted by some US soldiers.

Most Afghan people don't really care about the burning of the dead Taliban bodies because they don't have a good memory of the Taliban. During their government life was very hard and they were teasing people for no reason. In my opinion the last decision of the US military that some local Afghan National Army and national police will be consulted in the cleanup operations would be very useful and it will help both Afghan and US soldiers during the operations and if there will be coordination between both sides it will help a lot to defeat the remaining enemies and also our new Army will learn more war techniques from the US Army. I think creating cultural seminars is also very useful - it will give more information to the US soldiers about Afghan culture and traditions and if the US soldiers were more informed and learnt about Afghan culture it will help them to establish a good friendship with local people and if they threaten people well I am sure Afghan people will always support and help them. So I hope all new soldiers that are coming to Afghanistan should be informed about Afghan culture and traditions by an Afghan teacher. It will not take long and they will learn all about our culture in less than a week. We hope for improved friendship with the people of America and all people around the world.

Elections

After 8 weeks of slow counting, the results of the parliamentary election were finalized Saturday despite allegations of fraud in the counting process. Afghan people hope that their new parliament will start its work soon and this parliament will be a great step towards democratic stability. A number of eminent leaders, mostly jihadi leaders and one female candidate nominated themselves for the post of speaker in the national assembly. We hope an honest person will be elected for the post of national assembly speaker. Although 40% of the winners are former jihadi leaders and warlords, the finalized results show that more than 50 percent of the winners are the supporters of President Karzai so there is not a big challenge to the Karzai government. Most candidates whom lost complain about the fraud but I think even if there wasn't fraud in the counting process they still wouldn't win because most candidates whom lost the election were new faces in Afghan politics. Although some of them were well educated, they didn't have much influence among people, while other candidates who didn't have higher education managed to win, such as warlords and jihadi leaders.

I voted for Ramazan Bashardost, the former planning minister and he got the 3rd position in Kabul. During his job as Minister of Planning he was working hard and honestly and therefore many Kabul's people voted him. Even though he was a new face, his wonderful speeches won the heart of Kabul people and therefore he got 3rd position in Kabul and his presence in parliament will be very useful. Women will also play a great role in the parliament. They are more trustworthy and kind. Afghan women never had a strong voice in politics but now they can fight for their rights. Right now we need a parliament house and the Indian government is working to build it and it cost $US 25 million and it's hard to tell when the new parliament will officially starts its work, but I hope after the announcement of the speaker post our new parliament will start its work and I hope our parliament will open the best way to rebuild our country.

Liberation of Kabul

Today, the 13th of November, is the anniversary of when the Taliban fighters escaped from Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. On this day the Northern Alliance, with the help of coalition forces, overthrew the Taliban regime from the capital Kabul and made them withdraw to the southern and southeastern provinces as they were ousted from Kabul. The Kabul citizens were freed from the hardline regime's prison and they came out onto the roads and celebrated the defeat of the Taliban government and they started their free lives. The Taliban, with their old thoughts and under the name of the peaceful religion Islam, committed inhumane crimes against our people, our culture and history, and dominated the plans of our foreign enemies. During the Taliban regime life was really hard and the teasing of innocent civilians was part of their daily routine. During this government our people were yelling about their violence but there was no one to hear their voices. The human rights organizations and other countries were calm and watching them and unlike some countries established diplomatic relationship with the Taliban regime and they did not pay attention to our people that were telling everyone that one day the terrorists who were sheltered by Taliban will threaten others. But there was no one to listen. Finally, after the 11th of September, the world community, particularly the United States of America, decided to eradicate the terrorists and liberate Afghanistan from the hardline Taliban regime and their terrorists allies.

Terrorists are not participating Muslims, they are just a group who can't fight the big powers and they take their anger out on innocent civilians. Our country Afghanistan is still facing threats from the terrorists and every day many people lose their lives. We must be united to fight the terrorists and eradicate their name from the world.

Taliban Ignorance Regarding Female Education

According to the recent reports a girls' school was set on fire by the Taliban rebels in Logar Province. This inhumane action is a big enmity against education and female students. Taliban who claim to be good Muslims are committing crimes which are against the Islamic thoughts because in the Islam religion it is an assumption that men and women seek knowledge, and burning schools are the biggest ignorance of the Taliban. It is their own thoughts and it is not related to the Islam religion at all. Our country needs educated males and females in order to rebuild our country. We need educated females in different life processes. We need female doctors, engineers, teachers in order to treat, teach and rebuild our country because females form half of our society and they have equal rights like males.

Some non-Muslim people think that in the Islamic religion the female education is forbidden, which is completely wrong. The Taliban follow an old culture which is not related to Islam. Taliban doesn't follow some instructions of Islam religion. For example, in the Islam religion there is freedom of speech for everyone, knowledge for males and females; Islam prohibits the killing of innocent people from any religion like Muslim, Christian, Hindu. Islam says if you save the life of a person it means you saved the lives of whole humanity and if you kill someone it means you killed the humanity. But the Taliban and Al Qaeda still kill pro-government civilians and aid workers which is completely wrong. In my opinion there is a specific organization behind this that wants to bring illiteracy to Afghan society.
